Machining Hammer

This was a project for my advanced machining and CNC programing class were we had to program and machine all the parts necessary for  a hammer. We were required to provide CAD models, technical drawings, machine setup sheets and first article inspection sheets for every part. The hammer has a hardened steel pad for hard blows on one side and a brass pad on the other for soft blows. We left some stock on the steel pad when it was sent out to be hardened and we used a surface grinder to bring it into the final dimensions. The wall mount for the hammer completed using the sheet metal feature in solidworks to generate a flat pattern and then cut out using a plasma cutting table. To bend the pattern to the final shape, various sheet metal tools and processes were used.
